Adrian Segura is an award-winning civic designer, community organizer, and one of the nation’s top experts on community engagement. Featured across research articles, television broadcasts, and books, Adrian’s highly sought-after expertise has led to the benefit of millions of people. He is the Founder and President of The Luminary Collective (TLC), an MBE-certified, BIPOC-led, and fully bilingual social impact consulting firm that empowers organizations to center youth, residents, and civic leaders in co-creating solutions deeply rooted in the lived experiences of their communities.

Through TLC, Adrian serves as a trusted executive advisor to senior civic leaders, philanthropic partners, mayors, and mission-driven organizations. As a highly sought-after coach and leader, he currently serves as Bloomberg Philanthropies' Regional Lead for North America, overseeing a portfolio of more than 60 cities. In this capacity, he coaches municipalities to co-design and co-govern alongside their communities, activating youth to build urgent local climate solutions through the Youth Climate Action Fund. Under his guidance, cities distribute $50,000 to $150,000 in microgrants directly to youth to fund groundswell initiatives—from decarbonization and waste reduction to urban farming and public education—ensuring the next generation is at the forefront of the global climate movement. Expanding his coaching footprint, Adrian also partners with Digital Promise to coach school districts across the country on engagement practices, and supports Chicago Public Schools' central office leaders and principals through an effort with the Chicago Public Education Fund.

An expert in strategy, leadership development, and engagement, through TLC, Adrian helps organizations translate ambitious visions into sustainable operational realities. Championing cultural competency, he expertly navigates complex efforts that require complicated stakeholder coordination. His landmark initiatives include spearheading the launch of the Chicago Education Alliance, the city's first education field catalyst; guiding a transformative strategic plan for Chicago Scholars to scale their impact; supporting Family Focus, one of the Chicagoland region's oldest and largest social services nonprofits; and leading a comprehensive landscape analysis for A Better Chicago to tackle the city's chronic absenteeism crisis.

Before founding TLC, Adrian served as the Chief Officer of Engagement at Chicago Public Schools, where he drove unprecedented public participation, co-designing community-rooted solutions ranging from multi-million-dollar capital investments to district-wide policies. Adrian is a former Organizing for Action Fellow, an Education Pioneers Fellow, and a Leadership Greater Chicago Signature Fellow.

Adrian’s civic efforts transcend his day job. He serves on the boards of VOCEL and The Bloc, two organizations dedicated to youth development and community empowerment. He resides in Chicago with his wife and daughter. In his downtime, Adrian works on his craft as a novice Muay Thai fighter at Chicago Muay Thai.
